In the official statement posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, the UN Human Rights Office called upon the Sri Lankan government to proactively address apprehensions raised by civil society and industry groups. The office urged the government to consider amending the Online Safety Act to align it with international human rights standards, thereby ensuring compliance with the nation’s human rights obligations.
