The Chairman and members of the University Grants Commission (UGC) have resigned from their positions.
It was reported that they submitted their resignation letters to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on Monday, October 14, following a request from the Presidential Secretariat for their resignations.
The resigning members include UGC Chairman Senior Prof. Sampath Amaratunga, Vice Chairman Senior Prof. Chandana P. Udawatte, and other commissioners.
Although their official term was set to conclude in March 2025, they have formally communicated their decision to step down to the President in writing.
