President Ranil Wickremesinghe, in his budget speech today, announced an allocation of 40 million rupees in 2024 for the enhancement of laboratories and other essential facilities.
Under the leadership of Professor Dr. Chandima Jeewandara, the department has played a pivotal role in conducting crucial investigations related to the Coronavirus. The proposed upgrade reflects a commitment to bolstering the nation’s research infrastructure and furthering advancements in the field of allergy and immunology.
