Deputy Assistant Secretary of the US Treasury, Robert Kaproth, called on Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe on Monday (1), accompanied by US Ambassador Julie Chung.
Ambassador Chung commended Sri Lanka’s progress towards economic recovery, acknowledging ongoing challenges and urging the government to deepen reforms for growth, transparency, and accountability.
Kaproth and Ambassador Chung also met with State Finance Minister Shehan Semasinghe, where the minister expressed gratitude for US support in Sri Lanka’s economic recovery and debt restructuring efforts.
He highlighted the USA’s significant role in fostering stability and mutual understanding between the two nations, reaffirming commitment to economic reforms.
