Vegetable and Fish Prices Surge Due to Adverse Weather Conditions

Vegetable prices in the market have surged once again due to prevailing adverse weather conditions, which have damaged crops.

Ajith Kalutharage, President of the Manning Market Traders’ Association, warned that if this situation persists, vegetable prices may rise even further.

Similarly, fish prices have also increased rapidly. Jayasiri Wickramaarachchi, President of the Peliyagoda Central Fish Market Traders’ Association, stated that fishermen are not venturing out to sea because of the bad weather, leading to a significant rise in fish prices.
