Weather Advisory: Heavy Showers and Thunderstorms Expected in Several Provinces

The Meteorology Department has forecasted showers or thundershowers at times in the Northern Province, with localized heavy rainfall exceeding 50mm in some areas.

In addition, several spells of showers are expected in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces, as well as in the districts of Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya.

The Uva Province, along with the Ampara and Batticaloa districts, may also experience showers or thundershowers during the evening or night.

The public is urged to take necessary precautions against potential damage from temporary strong winds and lightning during these thundershowers.
