Weather Advisory: Heavy Showers Forecasted Across Sri Lanka

The Meteorological Department has issued a weather advisory for multiple provinces in Sri Lanka, predicting heavy showers exceeding 100 mm in certain areas.

The Western, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, and Southern Provinces, along with the Ampara and Batticaloa districts, are expected to experience these intense downpours.

Furthermore, temporary enhancement in showery weather conditions is anticipated today in the Eastern, Uva, and Southern Provinces, with showers or thundershowers forecasted in various districts including Hambantota, Nuwara Eliya, and Matale.

Showers or thundershowers are expected to occur at intervals in the Eastern and Uva Provinces, as well as in the Hambantota, Nuwara Eliya, and Matale districts.

The Northern and North Central Provinces may also witness several spells of showers.

In other areas of the island, showers or thundershowers are forecasted at various locations after 2:00 p.m. today.

Additionally, misty conditions are anticipated in certain areas of the Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts during the morning hours.
