Showers or thundershowers are forecast throughout the day in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-western provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts. Additional showers or thundershowers are expected in other areas across the island during the evening or night.
Strong winds, reaching up to 40 km/h, may occur intermittently over the Northern, North-central, and North-western provinces, as well as in the Trincomalee and Hambantota districts.
The public is advised to take appropriate precautions to minimize the risk of damage from temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
