The Meteorology Department reports that showers or thundershowers will occur intermittently in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle, and Matara districts.
Fairly heavy showers exceeding 50 mm are anticipated in some areas.
Additionally, showers or thundershowers may occur in a few locations in the Uva province and the Ampara and Batticaloa districts during the evening or night.
Strong winds ranging from 40-50 km/h are expected at times in the Northern and North-Central provinces and the Trincomalee and Hambantota districts.
The general public is kindly advised to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
