The Meteorology Department reports that showers or thundershowers will occur intermittently in the Western Province, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts.
Showers or thundershowers are also expected in several other areas of the island during the evening or night.
Fairly heavy showers, exceeding 50 mm, are likely in some locations within the Western, Northern, and Eastern provinces.
The general public is kindly advised to take adequate precautions to minimize the risk of damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
