According to hospital sources, a 62-year-old woman receiving treatment at Jaffna Hospital has succumbed to COVID-19. The woman, a resident of Jaffna, had returned from France just last week and was admitted to the hospital due to a fever.
Tragically, she passed away last Friday (12). Today, the post-mortem report confirmed that her death was attributed to COVID-19.
In response to this development, Public Health Inspectors (PHIs) have initiated efforts to trace her close contacts.
