Auditor General W. P. C. Wickramaratne has mandated that all government agencies must submit their annual financial statements on or before February 28.
In a released statement, Wickramaratne underscored the significance of timely submissions, noting that it facilitates “three months of thorough audit activities” ahead of the Auditor General’s summary report release.
The summary report, slated for issuance before May 31, will be published alongside the annual financial statement reports. This directive aims to ensure accountability and transparency in the financial reporting of government agencies.
