Covid-19 Confirmed in Deceased Patients at Kurunegala Teaching Hospital

Recent PCR tests conducted on two female patients who passed away during treatment at the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital have confirmed positive for Covid-19.

While it has been established that the patients were infected with the virus, it remains inconclusive whether their deaths can be directly attributed to Covid-19. The unfortunate incidents occurred yesterday (11).

In response, authorities have mandated quarantine measures for both patients and staff members from the ward where the individuals were undergoing treatment.

This incident recalls similar occurrences last year, where patients tested positive for Coronavirus posthumously.
