“Department of Immigration and Emigration Launches New Visa Process and Online Application Portal”

The Department of Immigration and Emigration has announced the implementation of its new visa process and online visa application portal starting today, April 17.

The details of the new visa methodology, including relevant fees, requirements, and validity periods in Sri Lanka, were previously published in the Extraordinary Gazette No. 2360/24 on November 27, 2023.

According to a press release from the department, arrangements have been finalized in collaboration with GBS Technology Service and IVS Global Institute to introduce the e-visa system. This online methodology will replace the current ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) process.

The department emphasized its commitment to offering a swift and efficient visa application process through the introduction of the new online portal, aiming to attract foreign tourists and investors.
