A team of officers from the Criminal Investigation Department’s Computer Crime Division apprehended Mr. G.P. Nissanka, the editor of the Ravana Lanka News website, at his residence in Pallebedda, Godakawela, around 10:45 pm last night (March 05).
The arrest was made because an article critical of the Army Commander, published by Mr. Nissanka, was deemed a threat to national security, as conveyed by the CID officers involved in the arrest. Mr. Nissanka’s father and teenage son were informed that he would be brought before the courts today.
