The National People’s Power (NPP) has informed the state-owned Independent Television Network (ITN) that NPP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake is ready to participate in a debate with SJB Leader Sajith Premadasa on the ITN channel.
The NPP acknowledged receipt of ITN’s letter dated June 4, which expressed the channel’s willingness to facilitate the proposed debate on June 6.
Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, NPP Executive Committee member responsible for coordinating the debate, emphasized in a letter to the ITN chairman the importance of confirming Premadasa’s participation in the scheduled debate, distinguishing it from a routine TV debate.
Dr. Jayatissa requested that ITN promptly inform the NPP if Premadasa would be participating in the debate on the agreed date and time.
