President Ranil Wickremesinghe inaugurated the Centre of Excellence for Women’s Healthcare at the District General Hospital in Kilinochchi this morning.
This project, with a cost of Rs. 5,320 million, is aligned with the government’s initiative to enhance health sector facilities nationwide and was funded by the Government of the Netherlands.
President Wickremesinghe stated that the government has implemented numerous special measures for the protection of women’s rights. He also announced the appointment of a separate commission to implement necessary initiatives aimed at empowering women through legislation.
