Prison Hospital Faces Overcrowding Crisis, Says Prison Department

The prison department has disclosed that the prison hospital is currently grappling with overcrowding, according to its spokesperson, Prison Commissioner Gamini B. Dissanayake. The surge in overcrowding is attributed to the escalating number of inmates seeking medical attention.

As of the latest report, the prison hospital accommodates three hundred and fifty inmates, a figure that far surpasses the available bed capacity, which stands at approximately one hundred and eighty-five beds. Commissioner Dissanayake expressed concern over the strain this overcrowding places on the healthcare facilities within the prison system.
