The anticipated resumption of the passenger ferry service from Nagapattinam to Kankesanthurai has encountered a setback due to delays in the vessel’s arrival and meeting regulatory standards.
Initially slated to recommence on May 13, the service has now been pushed back to May 17, as confirmed by IndSri Ferry Services Pvt. Ltd. in a press release issued on Sunday.
The statement assured the public, stating, “We have received assurances from the authorities regarding the timely issuance of all necessary legal compliance certificates to initiate the service on Friday, May 17, 2024. Customers who have made bookings for travel between May 13 and 16 will have their tickets rescheduled for May 17.”
