Sri Lanka Remains Vigilant Amid Potential Canadian Genocide Allegations

According to a diplomatic source, Sri Lanka is on heightened alert as Canadian leaders may level genocide allegations next month during the country’s war victory commemoration. Last year, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s accusations of genocide sparked a diplomatic rift between the two nations, prompting protests from Sri Lanka, including the summoning of the Canadian envoy.

The source, speaking to the Daily Mirror, revealed that the Sri Lankan government is closely monitoring the situation to determine if similar allegations will arise again, despite previous protests from Sri Lanka.

“Canadian leaders have a track record of making such allegations, despite the Canadian federal government’s conclusion that the events in Sri Lanka during the war do not meet the criteria for genocide,” the official stated.
