According to the President’s Media Division (PMD), the Sri Lankan rupee (LKR) has achieved significant recognition as the leading currency among emerging markets in the first quarter (Q1) of 2024. Citing data from Bloomberg markets, the PMD highlighted that the LKR showcased an impressive spot return, surpassing 7%, thus outperforming other emerging market currencies during this timeframe.
