In April 2024, Sri Lanka’s official reserve assets witnessed a notable 9.6% increase, reaching USD 5.43 billion, compared to USD 4.96 billion in March 2024, as reported by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).
However, it’s worth noting that this figure encompasses proceeds from the swap with the People’s Bank of China (PBoC) amounting to approximately USD 1.4 billion. These funds are subject to conditionalities regarding their usability.
