National Carrier Attributes Delay to Unplanned Operational Conditions, Not Trade Union Action
SriLankan Airlines has issued a clarification regarding the delay experienced at the check-in counters at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake earlier today, 25th February.
In an official statement, the national carrier emphasized that the delays were a result of temporary, unplanned operational conditions at the airport and were not associated with any form of trade union action.
The statement reassured passengers that check-in counter operations have been stabilized and returned to normal. SriLankan Airlines expressed apologies to any passengers inconvenienced by these operational delays. The airline also affirmed its commitment to ongoing monitoring of the situation and implementation of measures to prevent a recurrence.
Earlier reports in the morning had indicated delays in four SriLankan Airlines flights at BIA, citing ground staff allegedly refraining from certain duties. The airline’s clarification aims to provide transparency and address concerns surrounding the nature of the delay.
