State Minister of Finance, Ranjith Siambalapitiya, announced that due to 2024 being an election year, a supplementary budget will be presented for the first few months of 2025 instead of the Annual Budget.
The Minister shared this information while speaking to the media after a program held in Ruwanwella this morning.
He explained that according to the 2024 budget, parliamentary approval can only be granted for income and expenditure until December 31, 2024. Therefore, separate approval will need to be obtained for the income and expenditure for 2025.
