The Western Province has announced an increase in allocations for low-income earners under the Housing Development Fund.
Governor Marshal of the Air Force Roshan Goonetileke issued the extraordinary gazette notification detailing the revisions. The new measures increase the previous allocation for home construction from Rs. 200,000 to Rs. 300,000. Additionally, the initiative provides Rs. 200,000 to assist with house completion.
Families with a monthly income not exceeding Rs. 15,000 are eligible for this program. The increased funding will take effect on July 1.
